Peckham Hybrid Development

BA3 - Arch - Huw Jones - Peckham Hybrid

2020, BA Architecture Year 3

This scheme followed on from the previous BA3 masterplan project, utilising a part of the masterplan site and developing it further. The scheme had to have a minimum of 30 dwellings and a hybrid aspect, for which a supermarket was chosen. Research showed residents were keen on retaining the existing supermarket within the town centre, and as such it was decided that this amenity should be replaced given its demolition in the masterplan.

The building features a intensive green roof design that flows from the Northern entrance path up to a vantage point to view both the locally significant Peckham Library, designed by Will Alsop, and the proposed masterplan 'park' to the South.
