The brief of this project was to develop an urban scheme somewhere in certain areas of the city of Portsmouth. After urban analysis, a site was chosen and a design concept was formed that followed from linking local landmarks and nodes in a literal sense through lines of force. These lines were used to help drive the geometry of the scheme, resulting in a highly angular design. The project proposed a new theatre and community centre to be built near excellent transport links in Portsmouth, with the buildings showcasing the unique placement by interacting with the tide and placing the sea centre stage in the main auditorium.
