PECKHAM VALLEY SCHEME

B_16 - Photo.jpg

2019, BA Architecture Year 3

Following extensive urban analysis into the urban density of the area, and the lack of provision of public green space, the scheme focused on the most dense part of the given area of Peckham. Access to green spaces has been shown to have numerous positive health effects: “Access to good quality green space is associated
with a range of positive health outcomes including better self-rated health; lower body mass index scores, overweight and obesity levels; improved mental health and well-being and increased longevity in older people”
(Local action on health inequalities: Improving access to green spaces, 2014).

The scheme aimed to integrate a high density, multi-use commercial and residential developments with public green spaces through utilising the roof scape.
